Designed by Rohan Chavan from RC Architects, The Lightbox is an innovatively unique space. The brief was simple - a restroom for women and the handicap. Taking the word ‘restroom’ quite literally, Rohan has created a tranquil and bright shelter, amidst Mumbai’s urban chaos.

Brilliantly landscaped under a flyover, around a shady tree, this safe refuge is somewhere for women to catch a breather from the hustle and bustle of daily life. Whether it is to read a book or admire the ‘art gallery’ within the space, the architect has fashioned an exceptional blue print that could change the face of public toilets throughout the country.
