LivingForm architects designed a home in Bangalore that amalgamates nature and structure in a contemporary idiom. A conscious decision was taken by architect Sagar Shetty to mass the structure such that all areas enjoy the back open space of the plot. The house has a free flowing open plan blurring the water tight compartmentalization of living spaces within. Here spaces seem to flow and well-designed fenestrations allow the interior of the house to extend itself to the outside. A play of materials and hues enhances the experience within the house. Contemporary landscape interventions also add to the overall ambience of the home. The metal bamboo like arrangement creating a visual barrier between the car porch and the outhouse area is one of them, beyond which is the dynamic grass and flooring pattern. The house also makes reference to traditional ethnic structures where seating is often provided at the entrance porches.
