Designed by Biome Solutions, this bungalow is the perfect haven for a summer retreat. Located in Bengaluru, the project was created in as eco-friendly a manner as possible by the key architects involved – Chitra Vishwanath and Chandra Kumari.
The home welcomes you with soothing earthy tones sported right at the entrance. This colour scheme predominates throughout the house and adds to the natural chord struck by the décor. The house has a basement area, ground floor and a first floor.
Locally available materials were made use of for building the house. The excavated soil was used for mud blocks (exposed using mud pointing) to make the wall. Some walls are also mud plastered. The rest of the elements of construction are those with low embodied energy. Throughout the house it is interesting to see little rustic and traditional touches that add to the atmosphere and ambience.
