Come, Exchange Ideas Under This Tree

The Globant office has an unconventional and functional design style, thanks to Beyond Design.

The main inspiration for this Globant office in Pune was nature. The design style adopted for the 75,000 sq ft carpet area was modern with a green theme. Right from the “moss” in the reception, to the “walk in the woods” path leading to the cafeteria or the “learning tree” collaborative space and from the acrylic birds in the ceiling to the grass floor in the café, every space has a green touch.

The office is spread across two floors with almost 40,000 sq ft carpet area on each level. With 600 workstations, all 120 degree, it can become a maze to move around and find your path. Hence, the Beyond Design divided the entire office into four quadrants. Each quadrant has it’s own open collaborative spaces, meeting rooms and phone booths.

The story begins from the reception area, which is circular in shape and more like a lounge. It acts as a prelude to the interiors of the office. Instead of a conventional logo, “Globant” is formed from an LED strip that appears like a handwritten font.

The HR area is at the centre of the floor plate, so that an interviewee can view the entire office. The need for a lot of writable areas is fulfilled with columns cladded with writable film. Also, the black painted wall makes “BOX” meeting room’s outer surface a writable space.

The cafe has both conventional and unusual types of seating arrangements. You could ditch the chair and choose to sit on artificial grass.

Single and two seater phone booths were built across the facility. These booths are sound proof, with adequate power and light points and seating.

A few collaborative areas in the office are in form of a “learning tree”. It is a great idea to sit under a tree formed with FRP mould, acoustical panels and light fittings, and exchange ideas or brainstorm. The acrylic origami birds hanging from the ceiling add that magical vibe.
