With an unlikely ambience for its genre, White Lounge is sleek, bright, white and the antithesis of everything which you would expect a lounge bar to be. Architects Anand Menon and Shobhan Kothari of Atelier, who are responsible for the look of the 2500 square foot lounge in the Phoenix Mill complex have used LED lighting to create a pervasive glow, which infuses the entire space with its presence. The only dashes of colour come from the liquor bottles at the bar. The frontage is an opaque rippling wall of white asbestos with no gap in its façade, so as to pique the curiosity of passersby. Another conscious deviation from the norm of dark, dim lounges, is that White Lounge has a light, airy feel. Additionally, the inherent industrial qualities of the mill land on which the property was located were retained. The materials used - glass, mirror, asbestos, cement, acrylic and iron rods are minimalist to the point of being raw.
