A three bedroom residence located in South Mumbai has been overhauled by interior designer Kumpal Mittal of Kumpal Mittal & Associates lending it a bejewelled identity. It was a bare concrete shell when it came by her to refurbish. The residence now stands finished in an array of interesting materials which echo its practical yet bejewelled identity. Clad in light combinations of grey Italian, silver travertine and white makrana marbles, the lush lift lobby leads to an ebony-veneered, panelled entrance door. The door\'s mirror panel reflects through an arty, delicately carved wooden jali resting atop it. Inside, the living cum dining area flaunts a black, wine and white colour scheme with furniture upholstered in leather. The space exudes a contemporary aura, versatile enough to adapt ethnic forms into its design concept. I could achieve the client-required maintenance- free look using plush materials; thanks to the flexibility granted to me by them.
