Situated on the edge of the magnificent Vembanad Lake in Kerala, this lagoon which is surrounded by the entire resort is continuous with its waters. The Zuri Kumarakom Resort and Spa exemplifies the richness of the traditional culture of the place with all the best of present-day lifestyle elements. Its charm is derived from a fine balance of natural materials, a beautifully landscaped spacious setting.
N. Mahesh of the firm Iyer & Mahesh was at the helm of affairs with the eco-sensitive design of this resort. Authentic wall art and sculptures accessorise a straight lined, chic design plan. From the outside in, the design scheme rests very simply on the pillars of understated style and a restraint-filled reference to the traditional style of architecture. The different roofs of the property are some of its most elegant features. These are in essence galvanised tin which are moulded to look like a set of Mangalore tiles and are sand coated. The four sided, white Kathakali artist’s statue along with other typical elements from the region, are fine examples of the restraint filled reference to the culture of the place.
