This contemporary flat, located in a high rise building in Mumbai, is designed by Kavita Pankaj Associates. When the home was purchased the absence of walls was seen as an asset by the clients, which they readily placed in the competent hands of the designer duo, Pankaj and Kavita Wadhavkar. Since the beauty of the house is the view, the designers created the balconies in a way that the clients would enjoy using them comfortably.
All the open air spaces have waterproof furniture to counter the moisture laden air which has always been the bane of all sea facing homes; the all-weather cane used, instantly gives it an outdoorsy appeal. The terrace has a Mediterranean design theme to it; the water body and rock arrangement complement the stupendous views. This space has been dealt with restraint and care has been taken to provide ample seating. The architects have used rustic stone in the balconies, Italian marble for the living room, wooden flooring in the master bedroom and stone tiles in the terrace. Each space has been brought alive with its individual choice of flooring.
