A simplistically charming modern apartment designed by Kunal Shah Designs turns out to be a breakthrough from the done-to-death in-vogue trends of cities. In designing for this project, interior designer Kunal Shah envisaged a hint of vintage to add character to the space. Use of classic lamps and sleek timber furniture adds that vintage touch to this 800 sq. ft. home located in Mumbai. The broken white lustre paint of walls and the beige in-situ IPS flooring with glass strip joints is synergized with teak wood furniture. The decent silk and cotton tapestry from Fabindia gels into the overall ambiance. The quintessential colours bringing spunk to the space are contributed by the collection of books and paintings smartly accommodated in the overall sophistication.
The interiors have a unified, minimal material palette in neutral tones that shun any attempt at attaching themselves to an ‘ism’. The monotonous and harmonious feel throughout the apartment gives a soothing and relaxing appeal. Absence of any pomp generates an exhibit of innocence and belonging to the home. Eventually the space echoes a tranquillity that is unshakable.
