“Colours have been used unapologetically to become focus points on their own. Reds and maroons signify warmth and comfort, yellows and mustards reflect brightness and the greens provide a soothing sense of calm,” states the team from the Hyderabad-based firm, Form & Space Architects. “Access to the beautiful garden, both visually and physically, was very important to the client and this resulted in big windows and the use of glass wherever possible.”
A Sachin Jaltare painting named ‘Blissful Souls’ dominates a corner of the living room dotted with sleek seaters. “It is all about creating the right vibration,” states the design team. The steel-and-leather furniture of the formal living room reiterates the mood of the house. Shrikant Dunde’s striking works of art – black and white interjected by a burst of yellow – contrasts dramatically with the snow-white walls here.
Filled with bright light, the children’s bathroom has a floor-to-ceiling mirror and a stylish shower cubicle with blinds that relate to the bedroom décor.
